Goose Acre's Pub - Waterway Square - Woodlands, Texas

Today I am writing a review about my recent endeavor to Goose Acres Pub located in the Waterway Square area along the Woodlands Canal.

The restaurant has an Irish Pub theme which is actually pulled off pretty nicely. The locations feature two floors and outdoor patio seating along with some really nice views as well.

On this visit, I tried a couple different dishes that most folks should be familiar with to test out some of the classics and favorites.

Initially, I ordered a stack of fried season onions while waiting for some of my friends to accompany me for this visit. They are very flavorful, but there was definitely a little too much moisture in them since the batter came off the onion rings rather than sticking to them. They definitely needed to be cooked a bit longer to have nice a crunch which is something I'll remember for a future visit.

For my entree, I was in the mood for something a little spicy to accompany my nice ice cold beer I was drinking while watching my local basketball team play on TV that day. I decided to go with a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. I figure it's simple and straight forward should have some nice kick to it, and indeed it did. The celery and bleu cheese base on the bottom added some nice flavor and crunch. The cheddar cheese added some nice zing to the overall sandwich too.

To finish off the visit I tried some of Goose Acres Pound Cake with a yummy white chocolate mousse. The also do typically top the dessert with a wine berry sauce which i decided to pass on since I really didn't want it on the dessert and I am kind of glad I did because my friend learned the berries were way past their prime since they were ordered on the side. The pound cake itself was very light and on point. Not overly sweet. Definitely balance and the mousse was a nice creamy touch.

Overall the visit was a successful one. Gooses Acres Pub usually produces consistently good food, services, and drinks. They did have a couple hiccups on this visit, but nothing they can't fix. It's definitely a fun and interesting place to share a good meal with friends and family. I look forward to going there again and trying some of their new updated menu items.
